We had a great time manning a table at the Responsible Dog Ownership Day event sponsored by the Greater Panama City Dog Fanciers’ Association in Panama City on September 19th.  Foster Sammy and ECGRR alumni Lady were on hand to meet folks and help spread the word about the rescue.

A variety of vendors were present as well as a local TV crew from News 7.  These characters were also observed wandering around the grounds.

In all honesty, it was amazing some of the canine visitors didn’t freak out – but all was well.

While Sammy worked the full shift, Lady had her full of the crowd and laying on the ground after a few hours.

Stressing her dim views on being forced to be outside and not being in the air conditioning,  she took refuge in the back seat of an SUV.

gift-basket-09192015We featured a wonderful Doggie Basket filled with fun toys and treats any furry family member would enjoy as the prize an “email raffle”.  Visitors to the table were asked to sign up to receive the ECGRR Newsletter and at the end of the event we then randomly selected a winner.  Be sure to check out our table/booth at upcoming area events for your chance to win something similar.

The event also marked the kick off of our Fall Fundraiser Drive and we were able to collect $53 in cash donations.  We will be highlighting the drive during upcoming events in October, but donors can contribute anytime online.  Our goal is $2,500 and your generous donation will help save a golden – please spread the word.

SPECIAL NOTE:

A big THANK YOU to Pat Moran for answering our call for help and driving early Saturday morning from Tallahassee to Panama City to deliver our banner for the event!

Another big THANK YOU to Barbara McCluskey for helping man the table and providing basket/items for our email raffle.
