Frequently Asked Questions
I’m interested in adopting one of your rescue goldens. How do I proceed?
To get things started, visit our HOW TO ADOPT page. From that page, please take note of our donation donation structure. An adoption form needs to be completed so that we can enter you in our database and schedule a home visit.
Do you have any Golden puppies that can be adopted?
Normally no. Golden Puppies are just too cute and seldom go to rescues. It’s when they get older (no longer puppies) that people lose interest and they are handed off to rescues or shelters. If you are looking for a Golden puppy, it’s best to start your search through the Golden Retriever Club of America Puppy Referral Program -> CLICK HERE
I found or know of a dog that needs to be rescued. Can you help?
That depends on several issues. Our mission is to respond to Goldens in need within the geographical area of the Florida panhandle (Pensacola to Tallahassee). If you know of a Golden in need that is located in our area please do not hesitate to CONTACT US immediately. If it involves a Golden outside our response area, we can forward the information but a quicker response usually results from contacting them directly. Our RESOURCES page lists Golden rescues in Florida and surrounding states.
If the dog in question is not a golden you should contact a rescue group that handles the type of dog in question. Your local Humane Society or animal shelter can usually provide you with contacts.
Where are your dogs located? Can I visit the kennel?
We do not have a central location. All the dogs in our care stay as fosters in the homes of our volunteers who live throughout the Florida panhandle. During the adoption process we arrange for adopters to meet with the potential dog at location and time convenient for all parties involved.
